What about the State of Washington's Sales Tax on Solar Hot Water systems.

There is no Washington state sales tax on Solar Hot Water systems. All products. parts and material used as part of a Solar Hot Water system are exempt from Washington state sales tax.
The individual who is buying or if the equipment is being repaired, cleaned, altered or improved, must fill-out and sign a Washington state Buyers Retail Tax Exempt Certificate.

Solar Hot Water Equipment – Sales/Use Tax Exemption
Available to:
All persons.
Qualifying Activity:
Purchases of OG-300 rated solar water heating systems, OG-100 rated solar water heating collectors, solar heat exchangers, or differential solar controllers;
Charges for repair and replacement parts for such equipment;
Charges for labor and services for installing, repairing, cleaning, altering, or improving such equipment.
