The Deluxe Solar Residential Hot Water System uses an Apricus evacuated tube solar collector. The size of the solar collector is dependent upon the hot water needs of the property in question. If the home or property is occupied by only two individuals, then an AP20 solar collector array is used. The Apricus AP20 solar collector array has 20 evacuated tubes. If the home is occupied by three or four individuals then an AP30 is used. The AP30 has 30 tubes, If the home is occupied by five or six individuals then we usually install two AP20 collectors. If any of the individuals are small children the calculations change a little bit. The size of the collector is generally worked out at the time of the presentation. Some customers want more solar gain and other customers want less solar gain. The above figures are just guidelines.
The Deluxe Solar Residential Hot Water System uses an Apricus pumping station that has only one pump and one automatic control unit. The pumping station also has a number of other gages, valves, meters and such, but all Simple Solar Solutions pumping stations have the same number of gages, valves, meters and so on. The difference between the deluxe pumping station and the standard pumping station is that the deluxe pumping station has only one pump and no external heat exchanger. The standard pumping station has two pumps and one external heat exchanger. The deluxe system has the heat exchanger inside a special solar storage tank.
The Deluxe Solar Residential Hot Water System uses a special solar storage tank. This storage tank has a heat exchanger built right inside of it. This type of storage tank make this system more efficient. We always use an 80 gallon solar storage tank. The 80 gallon tanks give the uses the most system for the dollar. Bigger tank are sometimes hard to place and small tanks cost very close to the same amount as an 80 gallon tank.
The Deluxe Solar Residential Hot Water System will use either 1/2 inch or 3/4 inch copper piping to connect the solar collector to the pumping station, depending on design requirements. All the pipes used to connect the solar storage tank to the hot water heater are 3/4 in diameter. There are a number of different factor taken into account when sizing the piping to the collector. All of the piping used for this system will be insulated, inside a building and outside the building. Pipe running on the outside of a building will require more insulation and have weather protection. Where the pipe is run and the length of the run will have an effect on the cost of the install and the efficiency of the system. We try to keep the run as short as possible, unless it effects the aesthetics of the property.
The Deluxe Solar Residential Hot Water System is a state of the art solar hot water system.
It is a totally integrated, engineered system. All of the parts, in the system, are engineered to work together. In low sunlight environments, it has one of the highest solar gain ratings. With only one pump, it uses less electricity than the standard solar residential hot water system does. It looks nice and performs nicely. It is a solid hard working system that has a very long track record for dependability and effeciency. This system is one of the best system on the market.
